Waste volumes from the area are high and developing in Chile with the advent of ‘fast fashion’.. On average, Chilean buyers send 30kg of clothing and materials per capita to landfill every year. Social concern also has dependably been an element of the fashion industry – and crusades for enhanced social conditions for low paid laborers in creating nations have been powerful and proceed. PURANDA is a social enterprise that aims to cut all the negative consequences of fast fashion. We start with collecting pre-loved clothes and combine them with household materials to create unique apparels to our customers body. Also, PURANDA teaches up-cycling; the abilities to change and develop the life of the garments to disadvantaged communities. We believe that exchange knowledge through group workshops reduce carbon emissions of clothing and enhance local design and manufacturing capabilities.
